I arrived here at R.M.I/The River on 6-12-11 and I only had a bag with the bare necessities, $3, and a pillow. I ended up sleeping outside in a makeshift hammock. I woke up the next day at 6:00am to clean up at the Shell gas station to be ready for my first day of Summer school. After class was over I meet Jeff who was also attending the class with me. We have now become good friends. Jeff introduced me to Payne who allowed me to stay at his house for a little over two weeks. Jeff then invited me to stay with him and Payne also ended up staying with us as well. I lived with them at that house for just under two months. Now God has super naturally provided a house for all three of us that we rent. God has furnished it as well and filled the cabinets with food. I am a living testimony that God will supply all of our needs and more over and abundantly. I believe that this is just the beginning of what God has planned for my life. God is so amazing it’s awesome to see the provision come to me and flow thru my hands for my needs and also to be a blessing to others. God has been taking me from faith to faith and glory to glory. The stretching hurts so good but I love it because I know it will be worth it in the long run. What God can do to me he can and I do thru me. Now classes have just begun and I am so excited for what God has for me and to be in the perfect will of God. I never want to get out of it! I just want to be his yielded vessel and grow to be who he has planned for me to be and fulfill the call of God on my life. I want God to be able to say well done my good and faithful servant enter into the Kingdom of God.

I came to The River in 2005 with my mother and father. My dad attended The River Bible Institute for first year in 2006. I was always one of those people who said, “I will never, ever go to The River Bible Institute.” But, God had different plans. In the summer, before my first year I finally decided to move full speed ahead towards the things of God. I was sitting in my seat at the last night of Igniting a Generation when Pastor Todd started a River Bible Institute and River School of Worship alter call. I sat in my seat, and when it came time for people to go to the alter; I realized my heart was beating fast.

I thought “no way, not me!”, but I knew I should be up there. I fought it for a good five minutes, and Pastor Todd kept the alter call open for a while. I finally decided to just go up, and I lifted off of my chair, and sat back down… twice. I did not want to come. But, little did I know that it was going to have such an incredibly positive impact on my life. Finally, I got up and actually went up to the alter call.

The moment I got to the front I began to cry uncontrollably. I got an application, and didn’t apply for a long time. I actually changed my mind about going a couple weeks later. I was sure I was not going to go. But, then the day that Momentum got back from camp, right when we got off the bus Rom Dacosta pushed me up to Pastor Todd and told him I am coming to school. It became official; I am just going to go…..Rachel P.

The Great Awakening meetings that started this Sunday have been building momentum within just a short time span of five full days. We have been going live across the world into homes all over America and across the world and the impact has already been tremendous. CTN has been airing the meetings every single night this week and lives are being touched and changed for eternity. People who are flipping through the channels on their tv are stopping to watch the services where the power of God is falling.

While they are watching they are getting saved right where they are, healed from all types of sickness, and set free from addictions and bondages that have been holding them captive. This is only the first week that the meetings have been aired and people are already coming in from all over the world to be a part of what is happening at the River church. This will only pick up momentum as the days and weeks go by. The purpose of these meetings is to bring a Great Awakening to America and bring this nation back to God as our national pledge says, “One nation under God…”

This nation will see a Great Awakening sweep across it from every house. I am so excited to be a part of this and to have the honor of serving during these meetings; to be a part of making an eternal difference in the kingdom. It is so amazing to see what a large group of people we can reach through the airwaves and how they are being touched and changed by the fire of God. -Laura P

God is moving in the Tampa Bay, Florida. If you are hungry for God, come join us and see how he has been touching lives . The Bible tells us that we will see miracles , The blind eyes will open, we will lay hands on the sick’s and they shall recover. One morning, we went out soul winning in a neighborhood in Tampa where I  meet a very sick and blind woman.  I went to her house with a sister in Christ and we prayed for her healing that she may have sight- after we left I called her and she said that she felt a lot better. 

A couple days afterwards I called her to check how she was doing she told me that she was totally healed, and now able to freely walk around her home. Last week,  I went to pray with her after I finished praying miraculously, she told me she can see me her eyes opened partial / I brought a new convert with me in her house she saw the guy and started to prophesy to him she described him totally. Hallelujah! Also since, she’s been going around the house, walking and praising God. Praise God her grandson accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior also. Praise God.  -Ruth M.

It’s the third week of the great awakening and God is still doing incredible things in the lives of people around the world.  This week the presence of God was so thick every single service. I did the Great awakening prayer calls on Tuesday and the presence of God was there. There was one lady that called and she said she needed healing, so I prayed for her and I heard the phone drop. I got worried cause I thought he had fallen but she picked up the phone and ask “are you still there?” I said “yes ma’am what’s going on” she said Praise the Lord I’m walking, I’m walking!!! I haven’t walked in years!! At that point I was completely smacked.

God will never fail it’s just completely amazing to see what God is doing to and through people and I’m excited for the things that he is going to do this year.  It’s so awesome we had a Celebrity that was watching us online totally gave his heart to the Lord and he said it himself “I just got the fire of God” and now he’s watching service everyday and God is changing his families life and it’s so awesome!  Who knows who’s watching, God can touch anybody anywhere. Pastor Rodney has been blessed with another level of sharing the Gospel and that’s through television and many lives are being changed right there in many homes. God is so good!! It’s such an opportunity to be apart of this ministry.   –Rom D.

What another amazing week here at the River Church.  God has been doing so many things in the lives of those that have sought Him and have been hungry for His presence.  There have been many things that God has been doing in me and showing me through the course of this week.  One of the biggest things that has become more and more of a reality to me this week is that what God is doing in me is not as much for me as it is for those around me and those that I encounter.  This has been a topic that has been preached for a long time here at the River but it has become more and more real to me over the course of the last couple of weeks. 

When God touches me He does it so that I may allow Him to flow through me to touch others.  The calls that I have been taking in the call center have been amazing as I hear the joy and the release in the voice of those that God has touched. The ones that I have encountered on the streets have been so amazing that it is almost hard to put into words.  Everything that God has done in me and for me is so that I may go and touch a generation of people who are desperate for a touch from Heaven.  Seeing people react when they realize that God is not mad at them but rather loves them is something that I personally will never get tired of seeing.  People who were hooked on alcohol, drugs, pornography, and even self despair and defeat until this one encounter with the Spirit of God and will forever have their lives altered and are now bound for an eternity with Jesus is one of the greatest miracles that we will ever have the privilege of witnessing.-Darrel G.

This is the Great Awakening and God is shaking America once again… We know it with everything in us… I can see it in the meetings, I can see it in the streets, I can see it in the soul winners eyes… ITS HERE AND WE ARE APART OF IT!!! we were set apart for a time like NOW…I want to share what God is stirring afresh in my heart… And that is the reason why we have this great awakening … It’s SOULS… the HARVEST! I am hungry to see the power of God hit the streets like never before… I want to be used by Him… To reach a lost and dying world… To reach this land and be Jesus’ hands extended … And see this Great Awakening in America! Here’s what happened on the streets the other day…

One of the team members prayed for this guy and he gave his heart to the Lord then he called me over to pray with him for the guy to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit… He got filled right there on the spot! Then I followed a guy all the way and he didn’t want to stop and listen but i kept reading the script and he stopped right there you could see the power of God and the conviction of the Holy Ghost in his eyes… he stopped and he gave his heart to the Lord … Just by simply reading read the Gospel Soulwinning script! Then i went over and knocked on a lady’s door and prayed for her and she got hit by the power of God, tears were running down her eyes and she gave her heart to the Lord… Right there! And last but not least… A group of young people followed us around while we were winning souls and then we called them over and allot of them got filled with the Holy Spirit and started speaking in tongues and the one girl said “I feel the heat, i feel the heat” THE FIRE OF GOD MANIFESTED RIGHT THERE ON THE STREETS… just by reading the script and doing what God wants us to do… PREACH TEACH AND DEMONSTRATE THE POWER…- Eugene S.

The Great Awakening meetings have been so life changing already in the first week. Each meeting has been different, but also very powerful. On Sunday night I was in the call center answering prayer calls. I had a lady call that was from Connecticut and she had just had surgery on her vertebrae. She said that her back was in a lot of pain and she was wondering if God could help her. I told her that not only would he help her but that the Word of God said that He “would above all things that we would prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.” Then I prayed and commanded the pain to leave her back in the name of Jesus. After I prayed I asked her how she felt. She started shouting because the pain left her back. God is healing people even over the phone. There was another man that called, also with back pain. He knew that God could heal him, but he wanted someone to agree with him. I told him that the Bible said that when believers lay hands on the sick the will recover. So I told him to put his hand on his back and to pray in the Holy Spirit while I prayed in English. I once again commanded the pain to leave his back and for his body to line up. I heard him crying and then asked him what was going on. He said that his back was no longer hurting and he could feel the presence of God all over his body. This is just the beginning of what God is going to do in America! – Erica J.

I was in a nursing home during the Seekonk Crusade ministering to the patients. This particular nursing home was filled with many patients who were mentally challenged from previous alcohol and drug useage. What surprised me most was the fact that so many of the patients were surprised that we even wanted to come in and pray for them. According to the activities director, this was not a facility which the local churches came into. The following 2 testimonies stand out from this facilitiy: One elderly gentleman was sitting outside smoking a cigarette when he rededicated his life to the Lord. Afterwards, he told me that he was a retired priest from some small local Catholic Church. A second elderly gentleman came running down a flight of stairs looking for me after I had prayed the prayer of salvation with him. He grabbed my hand and asked me to pray for him as he was in liver failure. As I prayed for him, the anointing fell and you could see the peace of God come over this man. Afterwards he said, “thank you so much for praying for me, I believe that God has healed me.” The man was smiling from ear to ear after I prayed for him.

Last Sunday at The River Church at Tampa Bay we took eight buses and three vans and picked up children and their families for church and a Christmas toy give away.  It was an amazing experience to look into the eyes of people as they got on the bus.  I had seen some of them only a few days earlier unsaved and without hope.  As they got on the bus they were smiling and happy to be going to church. 
 
It is wonderful beyond words to be joined with people of like precious faith full of love and the power of the Holy Spirit whose hearts are for the unsaved.  I have been saved for twenty-seven years and have been involved in many aspects of lay ministry.  Nothing I have ever done in ministry has been as fulfilling and exciting as bringing souls into the Kingdom. 
 
Last Sunday we had the honor and privilege of ministering the Gospel and demonstrating the love of Jesus to hundreds of  children and their families.  We were able to impact their lives for eternity, because now they have Jesus in their heart and a place to go to church where they are taught the Word. 
 
Nothing compares with the joy of seeing someone transformed right before my very eyes, because they are not only hearing the good news but they are also being touched by His love and power. I get to do this every week through The River Church soul winning ministry.  We go out in teams to areas all over our community.  We knock on doors, get on buses, and talk to people on the streets.  We find that people are eager to hear about Jesus and make him Lord of their lives.
