We know we know the Lord because:

15. We are cleansed from sin

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1:7-10 NKJV

“And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.” 
1 John 3:5-10 NKJV

The freedom that we have in Christ is not the freedom to sin because we think He will forgive us anyway, but it is the freedom to live for Him and walk in righteousness. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. There is a clear distinction between the child of God and the child of the devil. Before we are saved, without the cleansing blood of Jesus, sin has dominion over us and it pulls us anyway it wants. Even though we want to do right, we keep doing wrong. Once we are washed in His blood, our heart draws us toward Him and toward righteousness. Our desires change. Sin no longer satisfies. The fact that we are cleansed from sin and we live righteously indicates that we truly know Him. If someone says that they know Him, but they practice sin, they make themselves to be a liar.

16. We are free from condemnation

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 NKJV

“For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.” 1 John 3:20-23 NKJV

Thank God, we are free from condemnation through Jesus Christ. We no longer fear God’s wrath and punishment; we no longer have a guilty conscience because of sin; we walk in the peace and freedom of His forgiveness. Because we know God and we know His character, we can now come confidently into His presence. Sin cannot stand in the presence of God. Because we are free from sin, we are free from the condemnation of sin and we have confidence toward God – confidence in His love, care and concern for us. 

17. His Spirit dwells in us

“Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.” 
1 John 3:24 NKJV

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 NKJV

“By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.”  1 John 4:13-14 NKJV

“[He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and
guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise].” 2 Corinthians 1:22 AMP

The fact that the Holy Spirit lives in us is proof that we know Him. The Spirit cannot dwell in an unclean vessel – only in a vessel that has been washed and cleansed and made brand new by the blood of Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit, Himself. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that makes us a brand new creature in Christ. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that builds character in us and grows and increases the fruit of the Spirit in us. It is the Holy Spirit that anoints us and endows us with spiritual gifts and graces. All this work of the Holy Spirit in us is
evidence that we truly know God.

July 4-11 was our summer camp meeting. This camp meeting seemed to be a step above other camp meetings.  The week before, the Lord told me two things: “expectancy” and “the next level”.  During the week of camp meeting, several people, including Pastor Rodney mentioned going to the next level or a new level.

Due to my work schedule, I came to many of the meetings late.  However, as soon as I was seated, the presence of the Lord was there.  It’s hard to describe, but it felt like He would catch me up on the night’s events so it felt like I didn’t miss anything.

I was so excited to see one of my RBI classmates; John Hawkins get up and speak.  He’s been faithful in the things of God and it is awesome to see him promoted.  I know that John is one of many in our class who will be used mightily of God.

It was interesting to hear the different speakers.  I hadn’t seen some of them before, but each one had a unique message that was tailor-made by the Holy Spirit for the meetings.  I especially enjoyed Joel Stockstill.  He spoke on things the Lord had been speaking to me about so his message was especially relevant.

This week of meetings was super charged and I feel that the messages are so important, I’m getting the DVD’s so I can go back and study them.  I don’t want to miss anything that the Lord has for me.

There has been a greater boldness in my life in regards to soul winning. I have noticed in my life lately, that I’ve felt lead to tell someone about Jesus and the situation has not been the most conducive, (such as a line in a grocery store or at an exquisite restaurant;) but when given the opportunity to tell someone about the Lord, there has been such a confidence. When I feel lead, I move instantly and it’s almost like I do not have any control! I like that because I think that’s how it should be. I believe that I am developing more in knowing the Holy Spirit and His promptings. His movements become mine.

Soul winning has gone to another level in my life, where I am not just winning a soul, but I am discipline people. I have been holding Bible studies with my wife and it has been great. It’s wonderful to see some of the people you win to the Lord grow in the Lord. It has not just been soul winning, but discipleship. I have the opportunity to see how powerful the Gospel is when heard by a hungry and lost generation; how the Holy Spirit touches the lives of people and causes people to come closer and go on an incredible journey with the Father; becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ!

I have found myself doing things that I have always dreamed of and heard about in the lives of great men and women of God! I love preaching and seeing the power of the Gospel change lives! It has been truly a blessing because as I help others to know more about Jesus, God sends people in my life to teach me more about Jesus. Revival Ministries Int’l is a blessing from the Lord!

The very first time I ever went out to win somebody to the Lord was the first week of Bible school. I went out with a group of students to the inner city community, but before we went out, they had us in a classroom showing us how to use the soul winning script. They were very bold in saying, “stick to the script.” It was hard at first, but weeks went by and it started to get easier to walk up to someone and say God loves you and has a great plan for your life.

It is an awesome look that people give when they are asked, “priceless”. Talking to them to get to know who they are and what is wrong with them. Some of them are sick or have something wrong with their bodies. When I ask if I could pray for them and they say yes; right when I lay my hands on them, I can feel the anointing or the presence of the Lord coming out of me and going into them. The results of that is when I finish praying for them, and I ask them how do you feel or do something that you could not do before. They say I feel better or the pain is gone and their face is glowing, smiling big, ear to ear, and tears running down their face.

That right there is a blessing to me of being used as a vessel and witnessing the Lord at work. When they start thanking me, I tell them “no, say this after me, thank you Lord Jesus, thank you Lord Jesus.” To teach them who heals them and who to give the glory to. I have learned a lot about people since I started this adventure of soul winning. I am looking forward for the next person who crosses my path and the Lord puts it on my heart to talk to them.

Soul winning is something that is a very big priority in my life now. Ever since I started digging into the Word of God and getting closer in my walk, I have known that I needed to share my faith with those around me. I had a burning desire to get out and tell others about the God that is so great that he would save a sinner like me. The first time that I went out on the street, I went all by myself and did not have a clue what to say.

I knocked on several doors and when the doors were opened, I did not really know what to say. Since that time, I have learned to use the soul winning script from the River at Tampa Bay. It seems too simple to work, but it has changed the way that I share the gospel with those around me. Since that time, I have led hundreds of people through the sinner’s prayer and saw a hunger for God come to life in those I’ve talked to.

I have had the pleasure of leading those I work with and around to the Lord. The boldness to witness grows each time that I go out. I still get nervous every time that I do go on the street, but I do not let that stop me, because God is faithful. I have recently started leading others in my home town in soul winning outreaches and getting them out on the street. We have had several outreaches and saw several come to the knowledge of Christ.

I would suggest to anyone that is saved, to get on the street and let others know who has changed your life. If you know the love of God, how can you hold it in. I know that the hardest part for me was just learning what to say to people, but by using the soul winning script I no longer have to worry about not knowing what to say.

I feel so blessed to be a part of a Revival Ministries International. People are being trained up to go out where the lost are and get them saved. Where I’m from we didn’t have an outreach program for soul winning but I had a desire to win the lost. Since I’ve been a part of The River Bible Institute and The River Church I’ve seen that desire come to pass. Every week we go out on the streets and projects to get people saved and also to invite them to ride the bus that I’m the Captain of that will pick them up on Sunday for church.

The training for soul winning goes on Monday through Saturday and people are taught how to use the script to lead someone to Jesus. We spend time praying in the Holy Ghost before the meetings start to “build up ourselves on our most holy faith,” (Jude 20). Leaders are appointed to take groups to the different bus routes and also to places that are real close to the church and surrounding malls.

I’ve been appointed as Team Leader several times and really didn’t feel like I was ready for that. It has caused me to be stretched in my faith and to grow as a believer. This past Saturday I was co leader of the whole Soul winning Class. A few small teams went on special assignments, and the rest all went to the area of my bus route. I felt we should start the meeting with praise and worship first and to stir ourselves up (2 Tim. 1:6). Some of our classes this quarter were on the power of praise and worship, so we did this before the training. Everyone seemed really blessed by it and several were laughing as the Holy Spirit filled them with joy.

This was a very rewarding and challenging experience for me personally. We got a lot of ground covered and many souls saved. This hand on training and experience is going to enable me to continue to win the lost and train up others how to organize teams and hit the streets with the Gospel of Jesus Christ where ever I go.

In 2007 The Lord directed me to bring two of my sons out to the summer camp meeting at The River! They were both called to bible school and almost immediately after arriving were telling me of how many souls they had led to Jesus! They were fortunate enough to go on a few of the G.A.T.’s

Back in the U.K. I had always spoken to people about Jesus and had led maybe 20 or so to salvation! I was on the outreach team and regularly went out witnessing to people.
However, when the boys shared with me some of the testimonies of what The Lord had done through them I became hungrier to see The Lord move in lives to see souls saved!

Winter camp meeting in 2008 I came over to visit the boys and my first soul winning trip was to a nursing home! This is stuck in my mind forever! One lady I spoke with was completely covered under the sheets, when I started to talk to her she came out from under the sheets and with a beaming smile said, “I have been waiting for you!”

Now a student at R.B.I. go out regularly with the teams winning souls for Christ! I love it when you pray with someone and they ask ‘ what is that I’m feeling’ or sometimes, ‘what are you doing to me’. You tell them it is the power and presence of God and can see their whole countenance alter, before your eyes they are being transformed!

I have become much bolder being here and have jumped onto buses while in the station and souls have been saved! It is very satisfying when you see them come to the church!

I am part of the bus ministry and now also part of the team that does outreach in Robles Park! This week will be our forth week and we are having a ‘cook out’, in English a bbq.

The first week we had fifteen come, all children. Last week we were up to thirty nine! This week will explode in numbers, as people will always come for food (and some of these children don’t eat well or often).

All my life I have had a love and a passion for Jesus and would share the gospel of Jesus Christ with friends, family and others. I would lead 1 or 2 people to Christ in about a month or so but it was always a long process and always somewhat hard to lead people to the Lord.

In August 2009 I moved from England to do a year of Bible School, one of the classes was called “Soul winning” to pass our class we had to lead 100 people to the Lord. I thought this was an impossible task/mission. So I attended the soul winning class and was very spectacle of the “soul winning script” that they used, it was simple, short and easy to do, for me this just seemed to true for words. I had so many questions about how could this script work? Will people really have an encounter with Jesus as their Lord and Savior?

As we went out on the streets I cried out to the Lord and said Lord let every one of these people I pray with have the true understanding and revelation of who you are what you did on the cross for them. As I stepped out and used the “Soul winning script” people were giving their lives to the Lord, people were getting healed and set free. People’s lives were getting transformed in front of my eyes.

For me, doing soul winning, for the first time ever I had this incredible revelation of how much God loved me and these people, this love that God had for us, that He gave his only Son, this love that He had for us didn’t matter what we had done or what we did do, He died on the cross for all and took all sin and sickness upon himself so that we could be free. This transformed me and changed me you can talk about the love of God but until you get a real revelation of His love you will never be the same again.

Soul winning has given me a greater passion for the lost and a deeper hunger to see souls saved! Getting my 100 souls saved was easy because it became a passion.

For me soul winning at The River has been challenge on a completely new level. I`ve been doing soul winning rather much in Latvia, but that was in environment that is well known and accustomed to me. Here, at Tampa, it`s completely opposite another culture, people think differently, act differently, and respond differently. Everything was so distinctive that made me feel really unsafe out on the streets. And atop of all of it emerged language barrier that in many cases made communication to people extremely embarrassing.

And after couple of times (definitely not the very fruitful ones) frustration came upon the stage of my mind…and, of course, it didn`t came alone but took along a shadow of fear! At that point I had to make a decision to deal with it. And knowing that fear and insecurity are neither a blessing from God, nor even an option offered in God`s word I had to choose His way of solving this major inconvenience that was about to turn into fruitlessness. Here are some simple statements made by God that enabled me to get over all the above mentioned.. 2Tim 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 8Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord,
Acts 4:29And now, Lord, behold their threatening: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.

Though I didn`t faced any threatening in this situation I needed holy boldness to speak His word. As I already mentioned I had done it before, but at another time, another place, to another people…and my yesterday`s boldness turned out to be insufficient for this new day and new place. But thank God He always equips me/us with all that is necessary to complete HIS mission! I asked Him and He gave me new boldness-to speak in uncomfortable, new circumstances.

And it seems that any new circumstance, especially uncomfortable one is a perfect place for birthing new boldness. Which in its turn will tear down fruitlessness and build up the Body? As for me soul winning got easier and better. New challenges-new victories! (No challenges-no victories)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV

For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
Ephesians 6:12 AMP

God created you to be free and live free. Even now, His plan for you is to be free—in your spirit, in your soul and in your body. None of us is born into freedom—we are born into the bondage of sin. Sin exalts itself against the truth of God’s word and habitual sin is a stronghold in your mind. The key to your freedom from bondage and demonic strongholds lies in your obedience and submission to Christ.

The enemies we face in this life are not other people, but the devil and his demons. His ultimate plan is to kill you and send you to a lost eternity through sin and disobedience. If he can get you to take others with you, if he can get you to destroy other lives, he will do it. He doesn’t care what you do as long as the end result is eternal death—eternal separation from God. The greatest lie of the devil is that your freedom lies in following your own impulses and lusts. He is there to tempt you and to drag you down into the gutter of sin as far as he can. He knows full well that the wages of sin is death. The devil’s plan is to get you so tied up in sin that you cannot break free—to erect strongholds of sin and rebellion in your mind that keep you in bondage and drive you deeper into sin and death.

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:12-13 NKJV

Sin is a deceiver—it is never satisfied—it is like a fire that cannot be quenched. Once you start on a particular path of sin, you will find that you are always drawn in deeper and deeper. Sin comes to harden your heart and pull you away from God—His protection and His blessings. When people—even Christians—yield to sin and make it a way of life, their heart becomes harder and harder and they move further and further away from the Living God. You are either both moving toward God, and freedom, and away from sin and bondage, or you are moving away from God and freedom, and toward sin and bondage.

The more you yield to temptations, the more you lose control of your own life. Sin is ruling and dominating you more and more. It’s a slippery slope. As you yield to sin and fleshly lusts, so you are yielding yourself also bit by bit into the control of the devil—all the time he is gaining more and more dominion in your life. You find yourself at a place where you are powerless to stop on your own—you need divine intervention! The devil’s plan is to defile God’s special creation—Man—so that he can possess and control them. Because the devil is a thief, even after you give your heart and life to Jesus, he is trying to tempt, deceive, control and destroy you. The devil wants to live in your house, but God says that you are created to be the temple of the Living God!

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 AMP says, “Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own].” You have been bought and paid for by the precious blood of Jesus and you owe Him your life. The devil has no right to try to move in to a house that already belongs to God! Verse 20 goes on to say, “So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.” You have an obligation to yourself to keep your house pure and clean. When you honor God, you keep the devil out!

God gives us armor for protection and weapons to fight the good fight. The weapons of our warfare are not weapons we can see, hear, touch, taste or smell—they are not man’s weapons—they are spiritual weapons. Our armor is truth, integrity, righteousness, the reality of the Gospel, faith, and salvation and our weapons are the Word of God and prayer. God’s word is a blueprint for a life of freedom and joy—now and in eternity. We can each choose this freedom by choosing obedience to God, His word and His way.
